Superman & Wonder Woman controversy.

September 1, 2012

As pretty much everyone know that Superman & Wonder Woman hooked up on Justice League #12.
I really don’t see why this is such a big deal.
This isn’t the first time Superman & Wonder Wonder hooked up in comic books.
Kingdom Come being the most famous of this hook up.

Much like the Catwoman controversy,I really don’t think it’s that big of a deal.
I actually like the idea of Superman & Wonder Woman hooking up.
It makes more sense than Sups dating Lois Lane.
Plus,Lane seems more into her work than she is with having a serious relationship.

How will DC makes this work is up in the air,but I like the potential of seeing 2 super powered beings having a romantic relationship.

Batman:Arkham City review.

July 11, 2012

I finally finished Batman:Arkham City for the PS3 (I was busy lol )

Anyway,here’s my review.
Everything you loved about Batman:Arkham Asylum is back, but with more stuff to do.
It takes place in a city/prison by Hugo Strange.
You still have to go up against the Joker though.

Gameplay is the same (which is a good thing)
You also have side missions to do (which adds a nice change of pace from the story)
I like the “open world” setting of the game instead of Arkham Asylum.
You have new gadgets to play this time around, while favorites like Remote Control Batarang & Explosive Gel return.
After finishing the game, you can play New Game + with all the gadgets you get(but the game is harder so you better use the stuff you have)
The soundtrack is amazing,I think it can compete against any movie soundtrack out there.

One of the things I didn’t like AA was the lack of Challenge Maps.
Arkham City changes that by adding more Challenge Maps.

I love Catwoman in Arkham City.
Her fighting style is very different from Batman (which is great since you have another character to play around with)
If you bought the Robin & Nightwing DLC (Like I did),they play differently as well.
Unfortunately you can’t play them in Story Mode,But you can play them in The Challenge Maps & 2-D side scrolling campaign.

The Riddler is back with more Riddler Trophies to collect.

Overall I loved playing this game.
I give it a 5 out of 5.

As for Batman:Arkham Asylum,I give it a 4 out of 5.

Batman:Arkham City is one of the few games that surpasses the first one.

If you’re new to the games,I recommend playing Batman:Arkham Asylum first then Arkham City.
I think resident Batman fan Lauren would give this her seal of Approval 🙂

How Marvel’s The Avengers changed the movie industry.

May 25, 2012

As you all know The Avengers is breaking every box office record.
But I think The Avengers changed the way movie studios look & greenlight movies (mainly action movies)
After both Dark Shadows & Battleship bombed at box office, movie studios can’t relied on A-list actors or tons of CGI to make money now.
They now need to think about not only who’s in a movie, but also how the movie is written.
One of the reasons The Avengers was awesome was the character’s interaction with other characters.
Joss Whedon was able to put all these awesome superheroes and have everyone of them to have one or two moments to shine.
Hulk vs Loki comes to mind.

Why did Dark Shadows & Battleship failed?
Because the story was not only crap, but the characters sucked too.
The fact that Paramount Pictures delayed G.I.Joe:Retaliation by 9 months for “3D” shows that they were worried about it bombing at the box office like Battleship did.

Men in Black 3 opens next Friday, and my guess it will finally beat The Avengers at the box office.
But now movie studios are now watching closely on the following films:

Snow White and The Huntsman
Prometheus
Amazing Spider-Man
And The Dark Knight Rises.

Should either one of them bomb or fall below expectations,it’s because people are expecting more out of their movies now.
I believe people are so spoiled by how The Avengers was so awesome that they expect all of these movies to be awesome too.
But if they’re not, then people will tell their friends to not see it.

I hope the movie industry will learns from The Avengers and make an awesome movie out of it.

Avengers movie review

May 8, 2012

I don’t write reviews very well,so I’m only going to list the following:

Is it the best superhero movie?

Yes by far.

What’s it worth all the hype?

Hell yes

Where the characters great on screen?

Yes.

Who stole the show?

Hulk for me stole the show.

Who was the weakest character based on screen time?

Hawkeye unfortunately (Hopefully they’ll fix it with future films)

Should you see it in 2D or 3D?

I saw in 3D and it looked pretty good, but it depends on how much you’re willing to spend on 3D .

Stay after the opening and ending credits for two scenes ^_^

The Dark Knight Rises has some competition for Best Comic Book Movie of 2012.

My opinion on the new TMNT movie.

March 27, 2012

As you all know that Michael Bay is producing the TMNT movie.
And the fact he’s going to make them “aliens” and not mutants.
I have never seen such “fanboy” hate over changes to a movie before >_<
I just want to say "GET A BLOODY LIFE"
What makes "fanboys" think the changes will ruin the franchise?
Don't "fanboys" know that the majority of movie goers are non-comic book fans?
Maybe the changes to the movie makes sense if you're trying to get general public to see it.
I remember all the "fanboy" hate when they thought Hugh Jackman was too tall to play Wolverine or that Heath Ledger wasn't going to be a good Joker.
Well guess what? Jackman played the best Wolverine I've seen on the big screen & Ledger won a Oscar for his role as the Joker.
So,my advice is:
Don't rush to judgement on stuff
Just wait and see what they do with the movie.

December 14, 2011

I have a list of movies I’m looking forward seeing in 2012:

1.The Dark Knight Rises (Catwoman,Bane,Nolan’s last Batman film,God I can’t wait till 2012)

3.Amazing Spider-Man (While I like Raimi’s films,I’m liking what they’re doing for this reboot)

4.The Hobbit (I’m a fan of the LOTR movies,so I’m looking forward to this prequel)

I can’t think of any other movie I was to see in 2012.

DC Comics 52 sex controversy

September 22, 2011

As you all know by now about the “sex” controversy in this weeks new books.
As a woman who has read comic books for a long time,I can said I don’t give a crap about this.
Now,you’ll may say “but I thought you would be offended by this because you’re a fangirl?”
Well,guessed what? I’m not.
Why? you ask,here’s my reasoning:
1:These books were written and draw by men,so it’s mainly fanboy service.
2:I’m not a fan of Starfire,I am a Catwoman fan but she’s known for this kind of behavior before.
3:Not all of DC’s women are acting like this.for example Wonder Woman,Supergirl, and Batgirl are not acting like sex crazed women.
There may be a reason why DC are writing Starfire and Catwoman this way,but we don’t know yet.
What I want in a comic book is a great story & good character development.
I mainly read Marvel books,so I’m not offended by this.
If this was done to say X-23 or Sue Storm,I would be really pissed off.
And remember this:
There’s not a whole lot of female readers buying the new 52,so DC is just targeting the male readers that are buying the books.
Yes,I am reading the new DC books, but I’m not interested in reading Catwoman.
So,there you have it,my opinion on this controversy.
