Avatar in 3-D

So I finally saw Avatar on March 14. Yea, I waited that long. Everyone told me how epic and amazing it was. Before I get to what I thought, let me tell you about what I went through to see this movie.

We drove way past the legal speed limit to get to a place 45 minutes away for a movie that was going to start in 30. We made it in record time. We paid for the tickets, got good seats, and as soon at the fucking trailers start, the building has to be evacuated. Some dumb kid pulled the fire alarm in the theater. The theater is inside of a mall, so a few thousand people spilled out into the mall. It was a cluster fuck, to say the least. After 40 minutes we went back in, and the movie started. We didn’t have sound for 2 minutes. I’m sure I missed a whole helluva lot. …

The 3-D effects were cool. It took me some time to get used to it, but I enjoyed it. However the story line sucked. Yes, it’s a great anti-war message or love your planet message or Americans want to take over everything message. The story line was just lacking. The acting, was also lacking. The movie as a whole was too much. I felt like I was in the theater for 10 hours. The Dark Knight was long, but it didn’t feel like it. This movie dragged, frankly there was too much movie. Some scenes could have been all together dropped. If I could remember what they were I would list them, but I was seriously bored through the film. I didn’t feel for any of the characters. They just seemed so flat to me.

The only good thing I have to say from the whole thing, was that we got two free passes for another movie. I’m down with that.

It’s too long, the acting stinks, the script is awful… Yuck, I hated it. The 3-D was okay I guess but urgh, just as bad as Titanic IMHO.

My boyfriend thought it was amazing. I don’t know why.
